November 2007

Here is November's calendar of activities. Be sure to enjoy them all, especially that wonderful homecooked THANKSGIVING Dinner we share together on the 20th. Be there, or else. So here it is...

NOVEMBER

Colts vs. Patriots (Sun., 11/04, 4:00p @ GRILE’s) – Come and watch the two best teams in the league duel for AFC supremacy. The Griles have once again opened their home and saved you a spot on the largest couch in town. Plenty of pool and soft drinks to make you feel like staying forever, but you will have to go when the game ends. Nevertheless, all teens and families are invited.

Jr. High Devotional (Tues., 11/06, 6:30-8:00p @ Youth Center)

Sr. High Devotional (Thur. 11/08, 6:30-8:00p @ Youth Center)

BLITZ Night: Let’s Go To The MOVIES! (Sun., 11/11, Time TBA) – We will be meeting at the Mounds Cinema to watch a movie and enjoy the smell of popcorn, surround sound, and comfortable reclining chairs…wake me up when its over. ☺ I will get you more details as the date nears.

Jr. High Devotional (Tues., 11/13, 6:30-8:00p @ Youth Center)

Sr. High Devotional (Thur. 11/15, 6:30-8:00p @ Youth Center)

Colts vs. Chiefs (Sun., 11/18, 1:00p @ GRILE’s) – Another opportunity to enjoy the Grile’s hospitality and root the Colts to victory against Larry Johnson and the Kansas City Chiefs. Grab lunch and then come on over.

2nd Annual LRCC Youth THANKSGIVING DINNER (Tue., 11/20, 6:30-8:00p @ Youth Center) – All youth and families are welcome to join us for a wonderful homecooked thanksgiving dinner as we share time together being thankful for our many blessings. The deal is, I provide the turkey, chicken, swine, and cow so long as you all bring the sides. Every teen should come armed with a side of something from a traditional thanksgiving meal (mashed potatoes, corn, green beans, stuffing, cranberry sauce, macaroni and cheese, sweet potatoes, rolls, pumpkin pie with a can of sprayable whipped cream…you know, only stuff they had at the first thanksgiving dinner)…or anything else that tastes good. It will be an awesome night, so don’t miss it.

Super Servants: Mother’s Day Out Kidsitting Service (Fri., 11/23, 8:00a-12:00p @ LRCC) – This year, as a service to our church families, the youth will be volunteering their time to kid-sit while parents do some Christmas shopping on the busiest shopping day of the year. We will be watching the kids from 8am until noon and will need plenty of volunteers (male and female) to help us make sure that they are safe. Come on out and give some of your time to help some hard working parents out.

Livealive Praise & Worship (Sun., 11/25, 6:00-7:30p @ Youth Center) – Come and worship with us as we celebrate God with music and prayer. This month we look forward to sharing an extended time of prayer together that you will not want to miss.

Jr. High Devotional (Tues., 11/27, 6:30-8:00p @ Youth Center)

Sr. High Devotional (Thur. 11/29, 6:30-8:00p @ Youth Center)

I am still securing one more event--the Friday night coffee house/concert series--and will update with that info asap. Thanks.

Adam

You might want to bring $5 or so for a ticket in. We will depart the church building at 6:30p. You may caravan with us or we will see you at the game.

COLTS vs. Buccaneers (Sun., 10/07, 3:45p @ GRILE’S) – Another COLTS game at the Grile’s, only this time with an afternoon flare. Bring some money for pizza ($3/person), and get ready to cheer a huge victory.

Blitz Night: CORN MAZE! (Sun., 10/14, 4:00-8:00p @ LRCC) – Meet at the building at 4:00p so that we can drive out to Farmland, IN to explore Central Indiana’s largest Corn Maze (avg. completion time is between 45-90 minutes!!!). Cost is $7 per person, and there are concessions selling elephant ears, so you may want to bring a little extra. Families and friends are welcome. This thing is massive (10.2 acres), so be ready.

Sr. High Devotional (Thur., 10/18, 6:30-8:00p @ YC)

College Football (Sat., 10/20, Time: TBA @ HILL’S) – Come out for the third Saturday of October, which is insider language for the annual rivalry game between Alabama and Tennessee. This game will be great, and the fierce smack talk between Adam (Bama) and Randall (UT) will be worth the time spent. Burgers and Dogs will be an added bonus. This is too much free fun to pass on.

Super Servants (Sun., 10/21, 12:00-3:00p, meet @ LRCC) – The Youth Group will be grabbing lunch and then visiting the residents at Meadow Brook Senior Rehabilitation Center and providing a Sunday Worship Service. Students will help pray, sing, serve communion, and read Scriptures. This opportunity to spend time with these brothers and sisters is a blessing that will touch your heart and lift their spirits. Families are welcome to join us. We will eat lunch at CiCi’s Pizza (bring at least $7), then we will head over for the service beginning at 2:00p.

COLTS @ Panthers (Sun., 10/28, 1:00p @ GRILE’S) – Come out to the Grile’s and watch to see if Julius Peppers gets a chance to sack Peyton Manning or if the Jaguars get torched by the Colts like everyone else. Bring your own lunch and meet us at the Grile’s at 1:00p.

LIVEALIVE Praise & Worship: LIPSCOMB NIGHT! (Sun., 10/28, 6:00-8:00p @ YC) – Welcome the triumphant return of Dos Maquinas as we celebrate an evening of praise and prayer. This month will be sponsored by Lipscomb University and a representative from LU will be there to give some stuff away…anybody like free stuff? See you there.

Jr. + Sr. High Devotional and Work Night (Tues., 10/30, 6:30-8:30p @ YC) – In addition to a full group devotional, we will also have a work night to help set up for our 2nd annual haunted hallway, as a part of the Harvest Festival. Bring $3 and we will provide some pizza for dinner. Come and help us get the work out of the way, so that we can play all night Wednesday.

ACS / LRCC Harvest Festival (Wed., 10/31, Time: TBA @ LRCC) – Come out and help us host our 2nd annual haunted hallway. This may actually be as much fun for the volunteers as it is for the kids. But this year…no silly string, we’ll figure something else out. Look forward to seeing you there, but you need to come dressed in costume.

So there you have it. Now like it! I said LIKE IT!

01 August 2007

August 2007

August is here meaning that pro football's preseason is about to start and college football starts in three and a half weeks. Awesome. Oh...it also means summer is ending...which means that school is beginning. Wooohoooo!

Either way, here is the youth calendar for the month...

August 2007

Sr. High Super Servants (Thur., 08/02, 6:30-9:00p) – Join us at the building as we earn money for the Youth Center by waxing an Anderson Community School Bus…and maybe my truck.

Blitz Night (Sun., 08/05, 6:30-8:00p) – Several favorite games will make an appearance at this event: Mafia, The World Series of Pop Culture, What’s that smell?, and Shoesies!...okay, no shoesies. Also, several new games will also make an appearance. Steve and Adam have schemed for a good while to come up with these gems. Don’t miss it.

Sr. High Devotional (Thur., 08/09, 6:30-8:00p @ the Hill’s)

Youth In Action (Fri. 08/10-Sun. 08/12) – The youth rally in Okolona is a group favorite. It is a wonderful youth rally that is well worth the $60 cost. We stay two nights in the Holiday Inn, get three meals provided, and get to hear great speakers like David Skidmore and Wiley Lowe, not to mention the concert by a cappella group Deeper Still. This year’s event should be awesome. We will meet at the building on Friday at 1:30p, and we will return on Sunday before 5:00p.

Jr. High Devotional (Tues., 08/14, 6:30-8:00p @ the Hill’s)

This event will feature the The Great LRCC Scavenger Hunt that you will not want to miss. The event starts at 7:00p on Friday and ends on Saturday at 8:00a. Parents, as a safety precaution, due to a lack of sleep teens will not be aloud to drive themselves home from this event, so please make plans to pick your child up on Saturday meeting. By Your Grace…Prayer Service (Sun., 07/01, 6p) – Meet in the church’s main lobby for a special tour of the new building, then join us for a Prayer Service seeking God’s grace as this project nears completion.

Jr. + Sr. High Devotional (Tues., 07/03, 6:30-7:45p) – All of the youth group will meet together at the Hill’s home to welcome in our new members—the rising 6th graders. Expect pizza, soda, great friends, lots of fun, and a devotional, of course.

The cost is $10 per person, which includes racing and fireworks. The races start at 7pm, but gates open early. Come out and try and sit together in the family section.

LIVEALIVE ILLUMINATE 07 (Sun., 07/08, 5-9p) – A little rain couldn’t hold this event back! Join us at Town Center Park across from the paramount on Meridian St. as we praise God and have a great time. Special guest musicians include Mike Kinney, Justin Webb, MP3 from Madison Park Church of God, and our very own Dos Maquinas. There is a kids’ play area and some fun fountains to run through, so bring a swimsuit and towel. Quiznos has issued special coupons for a discounted dinner. Bring your own lawn chairs for the most comfortable seating. Free parking available in the YMCA parking lot off Jackson.

Movie Night (Fri., 07/13, 8-11p) – Meet at the Hill’s home for another great film. Last month was “Night at the Museum.” Come and see what wonderful movie awaits us this month…hint: Card Game.

Church Picnic (Sun., 07/15, 4-7p) – Families don’t want to miss this church event at Pulaski Park. There will be games, food, fun, sunshine, and an all around great time. Invite a friend.

Girl’s Kings Island Getaway (Thur., 07/19, 7:30a – 1:00a, Fri.) – The girls of the LRCC youth group, along with any female friends and siblings are going to have a great day together at King’s Island. Meet at the building at 7:30am to ensure being at the park when the gates open. The park runs from 10am-10pm. Ladies, have a ball! More details TBA.

Guy’s Day Out (Thur., 07/19) While the ladies wear themselves out sweating in the July heat at a theme park, the guys will enjoy a much cooler day in which we grab lunch together and then take in a movie (or a nap) at the Mounds Cinema. Who knows what other fun we will find. More details TBA.

Sr. High Baseball Trip (Sat., 07/21, meet @ 5p @ the church) – All Sr. High students and their families and friends are invited to join us for a day at the ballpark taking in the great American game. Tickets will be $5 per person. Come for the baseball, come for the unforgettable “How To Score Baseball” lecture, or come fore the Frisbee dogs. Either way, be there.

GoKarts & Golf (Sun., 07/22, 6-8p) – Families are welcome to meet us out at the Anderson Raceway GoKart track for a great time racing. After the racing we will head to the Applewood Putt Putt right across the street for a quick game of pure frustration. I wasn’t even sure that this much fun could fit into one evening…and then I threw in milkshakes at the Steak & Shake! Cost: $10 per person.

Blitz Night (Sun., 07/29, 6:30-8p, @ the church) – Finally, we will play Megaball, and we’ll see if anyone can unseat the resident slushee chug champion, Aaron Estle. Last but not least will be the beginning of a new tradition…the Wiffle Championships! Don’t miss it.

Don't forget that there are weekly devotionals, except for the notable exception of Thursday July 19, 2007, and there will be no devo on that date.

Also, sign up for Youth In Action (Okolona) by no later than Sunday, July 29. The cost is $65 per person and includes three nights in the Holiday in and three meals. It's a great deal on an increidble event. Sign up on the bulletin board.

Peace,

Adam

For only the cost of dinner and a $5 dollar bill, you can join us for an evening you will never forget. Moe’s and Laser Tag—does it get much better this side of heaven? These are two high-profile minor league teams and the evening promises to include such special joys as some weird in-game special entertainment involving a chicken (no lie…), great ball park hot dogs, and Adam’s “How to score baseball” lecture that will almost be better than the game. Jr. High students and parents are welcome to come. This will also serve as a welcoming event to the rising Jr. High students who are also welcome along with their families. March 2006

Welcome to March--a month so special that they actually have a day dedicated to pinching people who don't wear green. Oh yeah, and there is a basketball tournament that is going to happen at some point too.

So here you go--a list of things you don't want to miss and an occasional reference to why they are so awesome.

March 2007:

Jr. + Sr. High Devotional (Thu. 3/1, 6:30-7:45p) - This will be our last night together for a while as we will return to split devotionals. Come join the celebration and weep your heart out over the parting of the students. Oh, we'll watch American Idol results afterwards and see if our brains actually liquify.

Super Servants (Sat. 3/3, 2-4p) – Come and serve with us as we minister to others in need. Meet at the building at 2p to help with preparation for our church’s annual mission trip to Honduras. In addition to cleaning, organizing, sorting, and packing, we will also help by contributing…so everyone needs to also bring with them a tube of toothpaste and a toothbrush.

Blitz Night (Sun. 3/4, 6:30-8p) – This month blitz night takes a brief return to its founding impulses as we will have a mystery meal at the building, but we promise that in spite of some interesting menu choices no one should get sick. Also included will be games and plenty of fun and fellowship.

Jr. High Devotional (Tues. 3/6, 6:30-7:45p @ Hill's)

Sr. High Devotional (Thu. 3/8, 6:30-7:45p @ Hill's)

Singing & Dessert (Sun. 3/11) – The entire church will be having a night of praise followed by some pretty amazing desserts. The youth will be joining in as we answer the call to “free food” with a great and resounding “yes!”

Jr. High Devotional (Tues. 3/13, 6:30-7:45p @ Hill's)

Sr. High Devotional (Thu. 3/15, 6:30-7:45p @ Hill's)

ILLUMINATE 2007 (Fri.-Sun. 3/16-3/18) – This is our minor youth rally for the spring and is hosted by the Rochester Hills church of Christ in Rochester Hills, MI. The cost is low, $10, but the experience will be memorable and lasting. Teens and parents are invited to this event which will also include a college visit and tour of Rochester College on Friday. We will be meeting at the church at 5:30am on Friday to leave for this trip, so be sure to set your alarms.

Jr. High Devotional (Tues. 3/20, 6:30-7:45p @ Hill's)

Sr. High Devotional (Thu. 3/22, 6:30-7:45p @ Hill's)

LiveAlive Praise & Worship (Sun. 3/25, 6-7:30p) – Dos Maquinas makes its triumphant return and all are invited to attend and bring friends to the building to enjoy another night of praise and worship as we give God all the glory for the life he has given us through his Son. Expect music, singing, praise, and prayer as we lift our hearts to Christ.

Jr. High Devotional (Tues. 3/27, 6:30-7:45p @ Hill's)

Sr. High Devotional (Thu. 3/29, 6:30-7:45p @ Hill's)

Movie Night (Fri. 3/30, 7-10p) – All youth are invited to the Hill house to watch a movie and discuss its relationship to their faith and their everyday living out of that faith. Free popcorn and soda. Invite your friends.

Okay, so if that is not enough to get you completely fired up, here is a picture that should help:

If that didn't work, it might be hopeless.

Remember, God Loves You and So Do I.

February 2007

Let's see, February is the shortest month, but it does not lack for attention. For one thing, it is Black History month (chosen because February is not only Lincoln's birthmonth, but also several prominent civil rights heroes were born in February). Also, there is Groundhog's Day and Valentine's Day and Presidents' Day. That's a lot of Days.

but here is the important stuff to remember about February:

PACERS vs. Lakers (Friday, 2/2) – All of those that signed up will meet at the building at 5:15p to drive down to Indy and watch Kobe and the Lakers try to beat the new look “fire sale” Pacers (new and improved without any superstars!!!). Bring money for concessions.

SUPERBOWL XLI Party (Sunday, 2/4) – Everyone is welcome to join us at the Kinney’s as we enjoy the biggest night in football as Kelly’s Colts and my Bears lock horns (interestingly, neither colts or bears have horns to lock…anyway…) in a Superbowl for the ages.

National Youth Conference (Friday & Saturday, 2/9-10) – I will be out of town both days at this training conference for Youth Ministers. Just letting you all know.

BLITZ Night (Sunday, 2/11) – The youth are invited to share in the Valentine’s Spirit as we tip our hat to love in a Blitz night full of fun, friends, and food. We will be having a valentine exchange, so be sure to bring valentines for everyone.

In this place… (Sunday, 2/18) – All youth and youth families are invited to meet in the new youth center for a special evening of prayer as we consecrate ourselves and that space for God’s use.

Funtasitic Day (Monday, 2/19) – If there is no snow day to be made up on President’s Day, the kids will have the day off from school, and are welcome to come and enjoy a day of games and movies and fun together at the Grile’s from 12 noon until 5pm.

Movie Night (Friday, 2/23) – All youth are welcome to come and experience the triumphant return of movie night at the Hill’s. Join us from 7-10p as we watch a movie and then think about how our faith relates to the world around us.

LIVEALIVE Praise & Worship Variety Hour (Sunday, 2/25) – Ok, I know, the name is a little iffy…for starters, the show lasts from 6:30-8:00p, so it is longer than an hour. But, I promise, there will be variety. Dos Maquinas will host and share the stage with several local bands of varying styles as we praise God together in song and prayer. Be sure to invite friends and neighbors as we will also have a Chili supper attached. This is a great outreach opportunity.

Okay, that's it for now. have fun and be safe...and remember, God loves you.

Adam

HAPPY NEW YEAR!!!

So here is the calendar for January. Note that some changes have been made to locations due to Cooper being born soon and all and us not knowing exactly when that will be. Either way, keep your head up and on a swivel, things could be changing fast.

Jr. High Devotional (Tuesday, Jan 2nd, 6:30-7:45p @ the Hill's)

The First Annual LRCC Youth OSCAR NIGHT (Thursday, Jan 4th, 6:30-8:30p) – Come out and see the stars as the entire church is invited to spend an evening of Hollywood glitz and glamour as we host the Oscars right here at the church building. Each of the teens has been commissioned to pair up and create an original film, and we will all gather and watch these masterpieces of cinema, and then celebrate them in an evening of awards and entertainment good for the whole family. You do not want to miss the red carpet, the stars, the paparazzi, and of course, the movies.

Super Servants (Saturday, Jan 6th, 2:00-4:00p) – Meet at the church as we enjoy a day of service together. And best of all…it’s free.

BLITZ Night (Sunday, Jan 7th, 6:30-8:00p) – Fun and games for everyone as we play with fun stuff like duct tape, toilet paper, and learn about the cosa nostra. Now who wants to miss that!?!

Jr. High Devotional (Tuesday, Jan 9th, 6:30-7:45p @ the Hill's)

Sr. High Devotional (Thursday, Jan 11th, 6:30-7:45p @ the Hill's)

Madden07 Tournament (Saturday, Jan 13th, 1:30-4:30p) – The Hill’s invite all challengers to meet at their house to try and dethrone the reigning Madden Champ, Chrishawn Beasley. Spectators are welcome, participants are encouraged, but only one champion will emerge.

NFL Playoffs (Sundays, Jan 14th and 21st, Time TBA) – There is nothing more exciting than the NFL playoffs (other than March madness and college bowl week, but who’s really keeping track), and no place more fun than the Grile’s basement (okay…okay…Disneyland, Kings Island, etc. but you get the point.). Come be a part of the group as we cheer on the Colts (and Bears…yeah baby!) toward the Superbowl. It will be fun, and if you don’t like football (are you still considered American?) there is a pool table and computer games and plenty of other stuff. Be there.

Cooper James Hill’s due date (Tuesday, Jan 23rd, whenever he feels like it) – Just thought you’d like to know.

Jr. High Devotional (Tuesday, Jan 23rd, 6:30-7:45p @ TBA)

Sr. High Devotional (Thursday, Jan 25th, 6:30-7:45p @ TBA)

LiveAlive Praise and Worship: Chris Lindsey (Sunday, Jan 28th, 6:30-8:00p) – Dos Maquinas takes a month off, but the praise doesn’t stop as LiveAlive continues welcoming Chris Lindsey, the lead singer of Watershed, as he takes time out of his tour schedule to stop by and lead us in some inspiring praise and worship. It is a real blessing to have such a talented guest, and you will not be disappointed, so be there.

Jr. High Devotional (Tuesday, Jan 30, 6:30-7:45 @ the Hill's

Okay, so keep checking back for updates and stuff.

See you later.

Don't Forget

Devotional tonight for Jr. and Sr. high has moved locations.

Instead of being at the church building it will be at the Hill's House!

Peace.

Question of the Day

Who plays with more heart?

Chris Simms - had his spleen ruptured, and came back into the game only to get beat?

or

...

uhhhh....

ummmm....

Heck. Who plays with more heart than that? Just comment on it, or something.

Youth In Action 2006 Photos!!!

They're here!!!

Okay, so it has taken me a while to get all these pics on here--partly because I am forgetful every now and then, and partly due to a disfunctional network. Either way, here they are: glorious photos of our opulent and magnificent fun at the Youth in Action in Okolona, KY.

It is worth noting that Reagan Cunningham is most certainly being abused by Karen Grile and Lauren Kinney in the first picture.

Our trip to Okolona was indeed a blast, and we are certainly going back next year, so be ready to come and join us for all the fun and spiritual growth.

A special thanks to all of my chaperones: Kelly, Christina, Charlotte, Becky, Casandra, Tangie, Steve, and Jon. You guys did a phenomenal job and I am very proud of your hard work and your dedication.

Have a great day! God loves you.

Adam

31 August 2006

Have you loved your college students today?

Hey, I have an updated address and phone number and email for some of our college kids, but because of safety precautions online (identity theft, stalking, etc. etc. random creepy evil, etc.) I can't just billboard their info.

Still, I want y'all to be in touch with them, so: if you want the info, talk to Adam and he can hook you up.

Take it easy.

--Jim Bob

SEPTEMBER 2006

Yeah...sorry about that whole August thing. I had to feed the hogs and some other stuff, so I never got to the whole blog thing...so anyway...

Here is some great information about this coming month, everyone's second favorite month: SEPTEMBER!
(no I don't know why...)

You do not want to miss this stuff:

College Football – Sat. 9/2 – Come to the Hill’s and celebrate college football’s opening weekend as we watch the California Bears play the Tennessee Volunteers from 5:30-8:45p. Bring $3 for dinner. Any and everyone is welcome. Bring a game if you want. This is open to everyone, so if you want to come and chat, come and play around, or come and watch the game, you are invited.

Family Game Night – Sun. 9/3 – This will be a great time of fun for the whole family. Meet at the church from 6:30-8:00 and be sure and bring your family’s favorite board or table game. I’ll bring the pizza! This is free so be sure to bring the whole family. I realize that this is Labor Day Sunday, but if you aren't doing anything, you ought to come enjoy free fun.

Blitz Night – Sun. 9/10 – Come and enjoy the standard good eats. Yum Yum! See you at the church building, but be aware that it is earlier: 5:30-7:00p, because the Colts play that night at 8:00 and we don’t want you to miss that.

College Football – Sat. 9/16 – Come to the Hill’s and enjoy two great games at once: Notre Dame vs. Michigan, and Clemson vs. Florida State. It all starts at 3:30p and wraps up at 7:00p. Bring $3 for dinner. There is more than football, so make sure you come check it out.

COLTS vs. Texans – Sun. 9/17 – Join us at the Grile’s to watch the Colts start the season with a win against the lowly Houston Texans. The game kicks off at 1:00pm. See you there.

Movie Night – Fri. 9/22 – Who doesn’t enjoy tremendous movies with a point? Sweet! Be at the Hill’s from 7-10p to watch and learn.

COLTS vs. Jaguars – Sun. 9/24 – The Grile’s again host us all as we root the Colts to victory against the evil Jacksonville Jaguars. See you at 1:00pm.

LiveAlive Praise and Worship – Sun. 9/24 – After the Colt’s game come and join us for an uplifting time of music, praise, and prayer. This is something you don’t want to miss, and it is open to everyone. We will be joined by another area church this month, so there are new friends to be made. August’s LiveAlive was so awesome, and it only promises to get better!

See You At The Pole – Wed. 9/27 – See if your child’s school is participating on the national day.

College Football – Sat. 9/30 – Come and sit at the feet of the football guru and learn from him the ways of the true football fan. Watch the Alabama Crimson Tide play the rival Florida Gators at the Hill’s. Time is still TBA, so keep an ear to the ground. You will need $3 for chow. Although I will not divert my attention from my beloved Crimson Tide, I understand if some of you want to play games instead of watch (I understand you're crazy...), so be sure to come and hang out.

Oh yeah...

so don’t forget about devo each week.

Also: Make sure that you remember that on Tuesday the 12th and Thursday the 14th, youth devotionals will be at the church building, not at the Hill’s. Thanks.

Enjoy an awesome month.

--Jim Bob

27 July 2006

How can I ever repay you?

Okay, so I have no clue how a team with under 40 wins has a game sold out in late July. Actually, I do know. This is the Cubs problem--Cubs fans (of which I am one) perpetuate the futility of the Cubs team. Basically, us fans will sell out almost every home game no matter what. So why will management pay bunches of cash to put great players out there when they will not sell any more tickets than they already sell putting only mediocre players out there. They are businessmen, and we are the suckers. We are in effect breaking our own heart...

I digress.

So the big bad news is:

THE CUBS vs. CARDS game is SOLD OUT!!!

In order to make it up to you, I will be treating you to breakfast. Because nothing says "I'm Sorry." like flapjacks.

We will be meeting at the IHOP on Scatterfield (near the applewood target) at 10:00am Friday (tomorrow).

Be there, and I will pay for your breakfast. Sorry again about the baseball game.

Adam

14 July 2006

Allow me to introduce you to...

OLVIN ARMANDO BETANCO

Olvin is 9 yrs old and lives in Tegucigalpa, Honduras. He is currently in 2nd grade. He likes to play soccer and his favorite class is math. He loves dogs, but wants to be a doctor when he grows up. His dad works as an assistant bricklayer and his mom sells tortillas that she makes.

Another thing you may not know about Olvin is that some of the money you give to this ministry's games and events goes to support Olvin so that he can have better nutrition and education. Thank you so much for your help with this commitment. This youth group's devotion to Olvin goes back farther than me, so I admit that I am proud that you have held up this commitment for so long.

We support Olvin through the Christian Relief Fund.
